Caregivers Syndrome

Caregivers are the one that we hire for a certain responsibility, a important one. The caregivers took cares of our loved ones, they do most of they can to make our love ones be taken care of. The caregiver is likely our friend, family members or some professionals that we hire to take care of our old aged and our love ones who has mental illness. The person who is in need of services very often lives with his or her caregiver instead of living alone or in an assisted living facility. One reason why family-member caregivers are popular is because, at least in dementia cases, home care in a familiar environment has been proven to help delay complete onset of the mental illness.

Because of the importance of their services, they are often paid for their 24 hour service to our love ones or our patient. Seventy-five percent of caregivers are female, and many caregivers report feeling a close connection with their patients. Conversely, due to the large responsibility placed on their shoulders, many caregivers, also report being financially, physically, and emotionally burdened by their responsibilities.

Because there are caregivers who are on the voluntary state, they are like likely to be prone to stress. The constant cycling of stress hormones can negatively affect their own physical and mental health, abetting some conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. On the other hand, the caregivers are prone to adopt the illness of the one they are taking care of. These negative effects that result in debilitating anger, depression, anxiety, and/or exhaustion have been categorized as conditions relating to the unofficial illness "caregiver syndrome."

on this case the caregivers suffering from this kind of illness might affect its performance in giving a quality care in your patient. So far, the main way to treat this condition is to seek help in fulfilling care giving responsibilities or to take temporary breaks and vacations called "respites" from the caregiver role.

Some organizations have recognized the burden placed on caregivers as well as the need to provide high quality care to those suffering from disability and illness. You should be able to find some caregiver alliances in your area that are nonprofit organizations for family caregivers that provide voluntary support and services to caregivers in your state.
